Safari – address bar not highlighted

iMac 27″ late 2012

OS X El Capitan 10.11.3

Safari

9.0.3

When opening a new tab in Safari, that tabs address bar is not highlighted.

In other words I can’t type an address or search on google directly.

Need to click in the address bar in order to do that.

I didn’t have this problem before until today after a restart..

Any idea on how to fix it?
